Wilshire Welcomes Head of Product Strategy

Chip Castille rejoins Wilshire in new role focusing on product innovation and development

SANTA MONICA, Calif., — January 22, 2024 — Wilshire, a leading global financial services firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chip Castille as Head of Product Strategy, a newly created role. Chip first joined Wilshire in 2000, where he spent seven years in a range of senior capacities, including division CIO. In this new role, Chip will focus on augmenting, enhancing and further scaling a wide range of products and solutions across Wilshire’s various business lines. He assumed the role on January 9 and will report directly to Jason Schwarz, Deputy CEO and President of Wilshire.

“I am excited to welcome Chip back to Wilshire as our first Head of Product Strategy,” said Schwarz. “Chip brings over three decades of experience as one of the leading innovators in the wealth and retirement space, and his leadership and industry expertise will further cement Wilshire’s standing as a pioneering provider of world-class investment solutions. This newly created role will further enable us to provide our clients with compelling solutions that meet evolving industry dynamics.”

Chip has more than thirty years of experience in the financial services industry and is well-positioned to drive Wilshire’s product offerings forward. Most recently, he founded Goal Based Investors, an innovative lead-generated platform that brings together retail investors, RIAs and investment managers. Prior to that, he led the Defined Contribution business at BGI (later acquired by BlackRock) where he invented the first cost of retirement index, CORI, and developed the award-winning iRetire strategy. Chip also held previous roles at Wilshire as a Managing Director before being named Chief Investment Officer of Wilshire Funds Management, where he built Wilshire’s multi-asset, multi-manager investment platform.

“I’m thrilled to rejoin Wilshire at a pivotal time when the convergence of product development across  wealth, retirement, institutional and alternative segments is in full force,” added Castille. “I look forward to being part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to meeting the ever-changing needs of our diverse clients. This opportunity allows me to capitalize on my diverse experience at a firm that has been known for creating innovative solutions for over fifty years.”

Chip earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Louisiana State University and his MBA from Loyal University New Orleans.
